Please join us in celebrating Max’s 11th Birthday!
I adopted Max (aka Maximus) way back in October of 2001 from Out of the Pits, when he was a mere pup at 3.5 months old.
Max turns 11 years old on July 1, 2012 and we are throwing a virtual ‘Pittie Party‘ in honor of his special day for the entire month of July!
How can you participate in the fun? So glad you asked! There are many ways to take part, you can make a donation to Out of the Pits – who still work tirelessly everyday to rescue and re-home pit bulls in NYS.
Or donate to your local rescue group who you know has a lot of Pit Bulls desperately looking for that furever home. Tell them you are making a donation in honor of Max’s Pittie Party!
Or you can get your own Pit Bull Rescue Group involved (or rescue group that has a lot of pits) by sharing his Pittie Party FB invite- spreading the word of how wonderful Pit Bulls are and how they make fantastic dogs!
Another way you can be involved is to go to your local shelter and make a pet food donation, pet toy donation, bring old blankets, treats, etc.
Of course, there will be a ‘Where in the World is Max’ Contest for the month of July!
If you have never met a Pit Bull and only believe the negative stereotypes – make a point in the month of July to open your mind and speak to dog trainers, rescue groups or someone who has rescued/adopted a pit bull and learn more about this amazing breed of dog ! Max still acts like a pup, is very playful, well behaved and accompanies me to my office everyday. He loves to be silly, pull his toys out of his basket, chew on a Marrow Bone, go swimming and go to the beach, go for daily long walks, hold a tennis ball while walking and always makes strangers smile when they see him coming! I mean how could they not smile, did you see how cute he is? 🙂 In his life he has had many different dog friends and for whatever reason happens to love female Chocolate labs, had a Muscovy duck as a sibling for over a year and a half, and has traveled all across LI on Hike, Hound and Network events with dogs and people he never met. He can also say, “I wuv you!” for a treat. He learned to do this at 9.5 years old – you can teach a new dog old tricks!
So please join in celebrating Max’s 11th Birthday and spread the word!!
If you are a Pet Product Company and would like to make a product donation to one of our local shelters here on Long Island in recognition of Max’s Pittie Party, please contact me so I can help you arrange that.
Our shelter pets need love, toys and attention too! (Nancy@LongIslandPetProfessionals.com)
